The North West Hospice is a registered charity and receives its funding from a variety of sources. A Business Plan sets out our priorities and the budget we need to fund the continuing work at the hospice. North West Hospice relies on public donations and fundraising for more than 50% of its annual funding.
Individual Donations
- To make a donation to the North West Hospice send a cheque (made payable to North West Hospice) to North West Hospice, The Mall, Sligo
- By post: send a cheque or bank draft, made payable to North West Hospice, to: The Mall,Sligo.
- In person: call into North West Hospice, The Mall, Sligo.
- In memory of: make a donation in memory of a loved one
- Bequest: remember North West Hospice in your will preparation.
Note: We are currently putting in place procedures to allow us to accept Credit Card Donations both On-Line and Over the Phone. If you wish to be notified when this service is available, please send an email to info@nwhospice.com with your name and telephone number or call us on 071-9143317 and we will contact to let you know when this service is active.
Corporate Donations
As well as the options above, we offer a number of additional alternatives for those wishing to make a corporate donation, e.g. once-off donations, sponsorship opportunities for events and projects, and 'give-as-you-earn' donations. For more information, just email info@nwhospice.com

Payroll Giving
Your company can become involved in Payroll Giving, making it easier for individuals to give to worthy causes like North West Hospice. By becoming involved in the scheme, employees authorise their employer to make a regular charitable deduction from his/her pay. Employers can choose one charity or more to benefit from this initiative. Charity of the Year
Many companies choose a Charity of the Year each year in order to realise their Corporate Social Responsibility aims. This means the chosen charity benefits from all staff initiatives during that particular year. For instance, employees can become involved in fundraising activities, volunteering to help or else participating in fundraising efforts and raising funds through sponsorship. Sponsorship
If your company would like to sponsor a particular aspect of North West Hospices' work, please contact us now. There are many ways that you can work with us as a sponsor, and once we know your budget we can give you a list of options that you can choose from.
Tax-Efficient Giving
North West Hospice can claim back the tax paid on donations of €250 or more made in any one year by individuals on PAYE. So if you make a donation of €250 to North West Hospice this year, and if you are paying tax at the higher rate of 41%, this means that the donation is actually worth more than €423 to North West Hospice. You can make a one-off donation or alternatively, you can set up a standing order to €21 each month.
